PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE NOTIFICATION
Tickets Please.
After 7 years fronting one of Canberras most successful bands Night Train, lead singer David Bishop is parting ways with the group to explore his options as a solo performer. The decision was made several months ago and on the eve of their final performance with the current line up the time was right to let loyal fans of the Canberra 5 piece what was going down in the camp.
As happens a lot with bands, Dave had moved somewhere else with his music and felt it wasnt the right thing for him to stay in Night Train so he made a tough decision to walk away and pursue a more acoustic/folk based angle to his music explains Night Train bass Player Clint Bopping, Night Train has always been about not doing things by halves and trying to do it bigger and better than what else is on offer.
The band take to the stage this Saturday night with fellow locals Tonk and Goulburns Jester at the Venue in Erindale, but the band is quick to point out this isnt the end of the line for Night Train, When we realized Dave was leaving we immediately sat down and thought about the future of the project and we came to the decision we have worked too hard for too long to just let it slip away says drummer Ben Schumann, Sure well be off the local scene for around 6 months, but as has always been the case in Night Train, every time something changes we seem to come back bigger and better, and thats the plan this time too.
The band is remaining tight lipped about their future but they all agree if the new Night Train cant live up to the expectations of the remaining members and more importantly what fans have come to expect they will call it a day, but at present that seems highly unlikely.
We wish Dave all the best with his solo endeavors and there is no doubt well miss his songwriting ability but it gives the rest of us a great chance to refresh the band and continue to grow heralds Guitarist David Moon.
Fans should do everything in their power to get to The Venue @ Erindale this Saturday night to see arguably one of Canberras most successful line ups of the naughties.
Sat Dec 8th Night Train, Tonk and Jester.

Well all the boys are gearing up for the trip to the Solomon Islands. This week saw all of us get out Vaccinations for every disease known to man, things we do for rock huh!
But seriously this is going to be a great trip and in our downtime in the Islands we will continue to work on new tunes for our album that should see the light of day next year.
13 Nov 06
Night Train will be heading to the Solomon Islands across Christmas and the New Year for a truly international gig.
They'll be performing for Australian Federal Police and Australian Defence Force personnel who are part of the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI for short). The band are stoked to be given the opportunity to head to an area of operations and perform for Aussies in uniform who are far from their families and on duty during the festive period.
And it won't only be Australians in the audience. RAMSI's military component also includes personnel from four other nations - New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Tonga, plus police from the many Pacific nations who make up the multinational Participating Police Force.
The band will perform several shows with other performers also locked into the tour. This culminates in a big year for Night Train with sales of their EP in the thousands and playing some big shows this year with the likes of Jimmy Barnes, Rose Tattoo, The Angels, The Screaming Jets, as well as taking part in Indyfest, Celebrate Canberra, Australia Day and Contact 06 locally. The band will use their downtime in the Solomon's to continue work on songs for their new album that will see the band hit the studio in 2007.

Well Bisho has had tonsolitis which has made things a bit hard in regards to performing and working on new stuff.
Clint, Scotty and Moony all went and caught Nickelback in Sydney, and with the amount of of Pryo and fire Chad and co used, we think the boys may want to start setting stuff on fire at the next gig.
Stay tuned as a very big show is being lined up in Canberra for the boys return to the local stage.
And don't forget to keep requesting Be There at your local radio station too!

02 Apr 06
He sets our crap up, packs it up, sells merch for us, keeps Bisho leads untangled :-) and keeps the stage stocked with cold drinks, he is Gregor our Stage God, we asked him some questions and this is what he said.
1. So how did you get involved with Stage Managing Night Train?
Met the Moon man and became best mates and I guess one thing led to another. I used to go to a lot of gigs and just started helping out. Eventually I learnt enough to be able to run the stage and over time have taken more jobs on like lights and occasionally sound.
2. What's the best part about your job with the band?
Seeing people rocking out to the bands originals is awesome. Selling merch and getting to sign boobies is pretty hard to top also!
3. What's the worst?
Probably the lug out after a gig, especially after a couple too many frothy beverages, its hard to start carrying heavy black boxes around when your half cut! Most gigs are all good though as we have it down to a fine art these days.
4. Who is the most demanding of your time during gigs?
Well if any one has a knack for getting knots in a lead it has to be Bisho! I think its a gift, and I'm sure some of it is intentional, just to keep me busy. Our old drummer used to give me a bit to do when his kit would start falling apart during sets! All in all the guys are pretty good and it runs smooth. Although these new fold back ears Bisho uses are a bit temperamental and keep me on the go most gigs.
5. What's the best gig you've worked on with Night Train?
I would have to say our Puzzle cd launch at the Hellenic club was pretty awesome. Massive stage and sound and they treated us like rock gods with a good back stage area and tip top rider. The crowd response was awesome and that makes it special, it's the general public that make us successful and to see them rocking out and wanting more is as good as it gets.
6. Any Goss about big bands you've supported?
What happens on the road stays on the road! Sorry to spoil the juicy goss section.
7. What's the best venue you've worked in?
I would have to say the Hellenic club again, good back stage area that gives me room to do what I have to. Staff are great there and nothing is a problem, thanks Jay.
8. What's the worst?
Academy in Civic, dark, no friggin room and a backstage the size of a shoe box. Sorry guys but you know you didn't allow for bands to play there when you designed it, and the Metro in Sydney, those stairs are a killer!
9. Ever been tempted to pass yourself off as a muso in the band?
Only the once and she was hot! Na just kidding I have as much fun as anyone doing what I do side stage. I like to watch!
10. What's your dream job?
It would have to be pedalling a V8 Supercar at full tilt through turn 8 at Adelaide or down Conrod at Bathurst, wouldn't get any better then that. A world tour with NT would be up there also.....................................See you at a gig soon, Gregor.
28 Mar 06
